Netherlands Army buys Saab MOUT system
August 30, 2005
The Royal Netherlands Army (RNA) has awarded Saab Training Systems a 62 million Swedish kronor ($76 million) contract for a Military Training in Urban Terrain (MOUT) system.
The contract, which was partially awarded last year, includes equipment, supplies and support for three years for a MOUT system in the Dutch training village of Marnehuizen.
Saab Training, based in Huskvarna, Sweden, will deliver the system by January. The company delivered a $692 million Mobile Combat Training Center to the RNA in 2003.
The fully-instrumented MOUT system will allow tactical training in an urban environment, with simulated direct and indirect fire and area weapons.
