Alion to help U.S. Army develop M&S community

Alion Science and Technology was awarded a contract to help the U.S. Army recruit, train and manage modeling and simulation personnel.
Under the $3.3 million task order, Alion will provide subject matter expertise and services to support the Army Modeling and Simulation Office and the Modeling and Simulation Proponent Office’s mission to train and supply qualified M&S professionals to the Army, and create and manage a fully trained M&S community.
Alion personnel will also perform geospatial analysis, analyze technical requirements and conduct staff-level research.
“The Army has a goal to use M&S routinely at all levels by 2016 for such activities as decision-making, mission planning, training, research and operations,” said Timer Keenan, Alion senior vice president and manager of the Strategic Operations Group. “Alion’s experts will help AMSO by developing and supporting solutions to ensure M&S integration across the Army.”
The period of performance runs from Sept. 1 through July 31.
