Boeing and Bell Helicopter have delivered two MV-22 Osprey Containerized Flight Training Devices to the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station at Miramar, Calif.
These training systems are used for basic familiarization of aircraft handling qualities, and operations. The trainers at Miramar will be able to link together for combined training of pilots.
The first MV-22 CFTD was delivered to MCAS New River, N.C. in 2007, and a second trainer will be delivered to that base in September, according to Boeing.

These trainers will also be able to network with each otherand also with three AV-8 Harrier full flight simulators built by Indra of Spain at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C.
Two additional trainers are planned to be added to Miramar in March and May, Boeing said.
