Sikorsky to set up helo training center in Colombia
June 01, 2010
Sikorsky is to establish a training center for the S-70 Black Hawk helicopter at Melgar Air Force Base in Colombia.
Equipped with a full-motion simulator, the center will provide training for the Colombian armed forces and Sikorsky’s military customers in Latin America.
Structured as an offset program, the facility is planned to develop into a training, maintenance, repair, overhaul and spares support center for both fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft.

The Colombian center will be set up by Sikorsky Aerospace Services, the U.S. helicopter manufacturer’s aftermarket business, which has plans to establish training and support centers in other regions of the world.
